A summer job . . . think of the options . . . or work for the best boss in the world YOU!
Be Your Own Boss! The Summer Company Program provides hands-on business training and mentoring, and awards of up to $3000 to students between the ages of 15-29 to start a full time business over the summer.
The aim of Summer Company is to inspire, coach and help young people to consider entrepreneurship as a career option.
If successful, a student receives:
- An award of up to $1500 to help with business start-up costs, and a $1500 award in upon the successful completion of their Summer Company business and returning to school
- A minimum of 12 hours of business training;
- An opportunity to regularly meet with a local business mentoring group for support and advice on operating their summer business.
What you need to do . . .
- Learn more about Summer Company and apply online at www.ontario.ca/summercompany starting November 2010.
- Prepare a business plan using the Summer Company Business Plan template
- Submit your completed business plan online to the Summer Company website to qualify for an interview to be considered for selection to the program
